This restaurant is moving from The Sun Restaurant which located the Sun Yat Sen Memorial Centre, Macalister Road. If you know where is the 1st branch of Burger King in Penang, then you will know where is this Seafront Dining restaurant located at. We paid a visit on this restaurant when they were the 1st day open business. Environment is simple and nice. When we walked in and see the menu... opps, it is a real fine dining restaurant. We don't know this is The Sun restaurant... until we saw "The Sun" on the menu cover. Well, let get a try since we also never been to The Sun.
Today menu... no other choice... only this. If I not mistaken, they will change the menu every week.
Soup of the day... mushroom soup. Taste: 3.5/5
Cajun chicken apple salsa accompanied with mesclun lettuce... Taste: 4/5.
Grilled chicken black paper sauce served with potato wedges and saute vegetables... Taste:3.5/5. I afraid they are using the instant black paper sauce... In fact, it is not :)
Grilled rib-eye shallot sauce served with mashed potato & saute vegetables... Taste: 3.5/5
Cake of the day... I think it is chocolate cheese cake... Taste: 3/5. Nothing surprise us.
Another flavor of cake of the day... I think is blueberry cheese cake... Taste: 3.5/5. The combination is good.
Overall, we are surprisingly satisfy. Maybe we did not expect this restaurant can come out such a standard food. Sure we will visit again... hope not get the same menu in our next visit. I still feel that it would be good if can have an A-la-cart order.
