Busan - Jalgachi Fish Market

Direction:
Take Line 1 to Jalgachi Station> Exit 10. Go straight and turn to 2nd right. Continue to head straight until you see the market.

This is the main building of Jalgachi Fish Market

Before enter to the building, we take a walk to the fish market which located at the alley. Here has more sea shell stuffs and different kind of octopus which rare to find in Malaysia.

Paul! Most smart type among Octopus family. This size cost 30,000 won which is RM100+!

Most of the fish here has been frozen.

No much different if compare to Malaysia's market.

Along the way, we saw... I think 3 types of restaurant/stall here. 1. All the fishes are BBQ in front of their restaurant with air-cond. 2. Go further, we saw some stalls selling seafood at front, and behind is self-service BBQ. Limited seat. No air-cond. 3. Go further more, stalls selling ready cooked seafood with some sauce/soup in 1 huge bowl. Limited seat. No air-cond. 3 of these we also did not try. Why? Because we only found out this after have a big meal inside Jalgachi Fish Market building. Our stomach is FULL~

This is what we call 'sai ham yu'... to become dried salted fish.

View behind  the Jalgachi Fish Market.

Could you see the houses behind? This is our next station... Gamcheon Culture Village.

Enter Jalgachi Fish Market building... ground floor... All stall almost selling same seafood.

Alfonso stop by one of the stall and buying some seafood as for our lunch. I asked Alfonso: why you choose this stall? He answered me: So far only this autie willing to entertain me and she looks gorgeous. I smile.

3 different size of abalone. Small size: 7 for 10k won, Medium size: 4 for 10k won, Big size: 2 for 10k won. To me, they are CHEAP!

After bought, autie make a call to ask their people (cooker) come down to collect our seafood. And, we been guided to up stair (level 1) and take a seat.

This is additional order. This come with rice. You must let it cook at least 15 min. Longer time you cook, taste would be nicer. We like it very much... yum yum~

Our BBQ fish. Hmm... taste is a bit light.

The best way to taste fresh seafood is by STEAM! Nice!

Our main dish... octopus in sashimi! Taste fresh and springy. I'm not dare to take sashimi all the while... to pursue myself to take it... I told myslef: This is must try food in Korea. Else, you are out! Well, it is yummy!

We almost finish half plate of sashimi octopus, the octopus is still looks alive. Scared you?

This is the stall that we had. The price that you bought seafood is not including 'cook service'. This cost us around 25,000 won (not remember the exact figure). 2 adults were eaten almost RM200 seafood! We still have a lot of seafood haven't try out yet le~

Worth to go? Yes. Enjoy their seafood!

Maricosa Restaurant (Pacific Rim & Hawaiian)

Location: Straits Quay, Tanjung Tokong, Penang
Date: 15 Feb 2014, Saturday

This restaurant was started operated on 2012. We celebrated 2014 Valentine's day in conjunction with Chap Goh Mei Day ( last day of Chinese New Year) at here. We celebrated the day after the actual V'day because it is more convenient for us since our boy just 13 months plus it is weekend, less expensive and avoid for traffic jam.

Logo of Maricosa... Pineapple...Tropicana feel~.

Outdoor seat... Nice design. Can enjoy your meal in front of boats, blue sky and partial tooks the sea.

Interior design and decoration

There have corner selling some stuffs... I believe is something related to Hawaii goodies.

My men and my boy... my men feeding my boy his porridge. I like their fan design... Very unique.

Hawaiian margaritas, RM21.90. The quantity can serve up for 2 persons. I thought that is juice plus champagne... Well, it contains alcohol. I can take much, hehe.

I ordered their salmon set which under salmon fair. Pumpkin soup and charcoal buns. Taste of soup is normal. The buns... Hmm... I feel only portion of buns is soft and tasteless. I'm not sure it should be this taste since this is my first time having charcoal bun.

Homemade squid sausage, RM18.90. The taste and texture are horrible! The meat is dry and not juicy at all... Hard to bite. Regret to order this... I should listen to Alfonso to order the clamp as appetizer.

My grilled salmon with butter, RM 33.90. Portion is small. Tiny slice of grilled salmon serve with potato mash. Very simple display. Taste: 3/5.

Honey pork ribs, RM42.90. Appearance looks good. Juicy if compare to the Morgan Field pork rib in Queensbay Mall that we had for lunch. If I not mistaken, it is teriyaki taste. My hubby said not bad. To me, ok-la. Taste:3.5/5

$$$$$$$$.... Overall the food is just ok, ambiance nice. If base on the portion and taste... I feel it is a bit overprice. I think customer is come for the ambiance instead of food. If you look at the menu, food display in picture looks yummy.

'Side dish' of his V-day gift... Give him on the actual day. Even though we already said we will choose our gift on the next day but how can I do nothing on the actual day le~
His v-gift is a sun-glasses with classic frame shape+blue reflection 'cermin'. No photo taken because he put it in his car already.

Surprise V-day gift from him. Actually I was looking for waist bag which needed during our traveling where we bring Lucas along. So it is more convenient for me to carry my boy. We walked into 'Country Hide' shop which having 70% off.I have no intention to buy any, only because I saw a watch storage and stopped by have a look. Well, sale lady told me this bag is made by the leather which same as Prada bag and now have 70% off which from RM839 become RM251.70. Alfonso said he buy this for me as v-day gift. How can I say NO le~ hehe :)

QEII Restaurant

Location: Tanjung City Marina, Church Street Pier, 8A, Pengkalan Weld, George Town, Penang.
Opening Times: Daily, 12noon-12midnight (dining); 12noon-3am (entertainment)

This restaurant has been operating some times ago. Read from food bloggers, the environment there sounds very nice...

"Built on stilts over the water, the club-restaurant combination is next to the Penang jetty overlooking the marina. As night falls, the venue converts from a fine dining eatery to a large alfresco club buzzing with vivacious house and dance music." -- by Timeout.com

OK, today is my little boy 1st B'day. So I decided to visit this restaurant as celebrating his B'day. Hehehe...

"Food From The Sea" Salad... RM18. It looks like soup, isn't? Haha...
Taste:4/5
Kataifi Bacon and Queen Scallops... RM23. Scallops not juicy enough. But overall is good.
Taste: 4/5

Scallops....!!! Rolled with bacon.

Lobster Bisque ... RM16. Too strong of "prawn essence". You must drink it before it get cold.
Taste: 2/5
QEII’s signature wood fire pizza...The Mafia... 8"... RM36. Imelda commented that it taste better than the Ferringhi Garden's pizza.
Taste: 4/5

Roast Chicken with Mushroom Herb Sauce... RM28. Imelda and Ah Pheng also commented that this is the best among the rest of the main course that we ordered. I would say the taste is just stronger then the rest one.
Taste: 4/5

Lamb Shank Osso-Buco ... RM42. Soft and nice if it is hot. But can't take too much... else you will feel... hehehe.
Taste: 3/5
Volcano!!!! Salted volcano...

Juicy Salt Baked Chicken. We thought that is similar with Ipoh salted chicken. No, it is not! Roasted chicken with some vegetable plus some herb sauce. Actually, not salty at all. I disappointed at all.
Rate: 2/5

OK... bill time... sweating~

If you would like to know their menu and price... go to this people's blog "http://kokcheehou.blogspot.com/2013/02/qe-ii-penang-waterfront-venue.html". He captured every single page of menu. Good! Haha...

The Sire Museum Restaurant

Location: 4, Lebuh King, George Town, Penang.
Opening Time: Daily, 11.30am-3pm, 6pm-10.30pm
Tel: +604 264 5088

Again, heard this restaurant long time ago. But yet to have chance to visit. This year anniversary, I did some "research" and decided to pay The Sire visit. Why and what I need to do some research? Actually, I was looking for some unique restaurant which opening at noon instead of only at night. Because day time is more convenient for us if wanna bring Lucas along, hehe.

The ambiance of this restaurant is nice. There have another partition is display the collection of antiques. But I'm not sure whether I can enter or not. So I stop my step there. After read from TimeOut website, only know that all these antiques is possession of the Yeap family for decade, and I think that I can enter to look those antiques. No wonder it called museum restaurant.Actually, the structure of this restaurant is similar as one of the Penang tourism spot which is Rumah Peranakan.

The ambiance of this restaurant is good, isn't? Christmas is around the corner. You can see that they have done some Christmas decoration in such Nyonya feel building.

Okay, let's focus on the food that we ordered. Their menu is similar as its sister restaurant, Ferringhi Garden restaurant.

Strawberry Milk Shake, RM11.80. The taste was too light for me and not sweet enough. Maybe they more emphasize on healthy.
Taste: 1/5

Carbonara Spaghetti, RM22.80. First few bites were great. More and more bite, then you will know how it feels if you use to eat such creamy type of spaghetti. Overall is nice and lot of ingredient.
Taste: 4/5

Norwegian Seafood Soup, RM28.80. Same as the time we ordered it in Ferringhi Garden Restaurant. Sour and Spicy. But this time is a too spicy and salty. We can't take all. Else, this is a very special and nice soup in the town.
Taste: 2/5 (due to too spicy and salty. My 1st time taste it in Ferringhi Garden was 4/5).

Neptune's Delight, RM79.80. Whole baked lobster and serve with 2 king prawns and veges. I love its creamy cheese sauce and the well cook lobster meat. But my hubby said that he totally cannot taste its fresh meat due to already been deep dried. Yes, I agreed with him. Seafood should cook by steaming, only can taste its fresh. But I still like this dish, hehe.
Taste: 5/5

What do you think about its price? Service and environment is good.
