Tamborine@Australia-Day4

Date: 19 July 2011, Tuesday
Weather: 19'C, 15'C, 8'C (max, mean, min)

Route:
Breakfast (take away) -> Tamborine (Cedar creek falls, Winery, town) -> Harbour Town -> Surfers Paradise

We left Jenny Aunty's house at around 8am and start heading to Gold Coast. Since my tummy not feeling well, I requested to stay inside the car and ask them 'tapao' breakfast for me. Kindness Imelda was suggested just take away and eat inside the car. Well, it looks like a very good coffee shop and they don't have chance to dine in and enjoy the food... my bad :(

My pain was killing me... I have to take a nap to reduce my pain. I did not enjoy the view along the way from Brisbane to Tamborine. When I awake, I saw we were driving up to the mountain... small path, forest around, up and down. Yup, we arrived one of the sopping point at Tamborine National Park - Cedar creek falls.

After parked the car and had my breakfast here... we need to walk around 1km to reach the fall. Ooouch... my stomach feel pain again... tahan!
What I need to mention here is... we do not need to flush the toilet after used... because there have no water supply for each toilet bowl... they are 'direct go' to the rock/land. So it might have a very strong smell if someone do a 'big biz' here. Fortunately, basin has water tap with water!

This fall is small cascade (maybe 15-20m or so) in a rocky area. It did not surprise me :(

Actually, there are a number of picnic areas as well as scenic drives and many bushwalks to lookouts, gorges, watefalls, cliffs, rainforest areas, wet eucalypt forest, open forest and woodlands. We did not go for other because we do not have much time and it needs to walk for >1km.

We that 'little falls', we stopped by the info center and get to know what else can explore in this small town. The staff there was not so friendly and feel like he bored with his job (apa-la). OK, from the info center, we went to the nearest winery. There have few wineries actually... we just simply pick one. Due to now is winter, not a blossom season. So, we see nothing... worse than the time we in Melbourne. That time we still can see the leaf...now totally nothing can see. Best time to see the grape is SUMMER!

,
Winery at 'back yard'...
Alfonso bought a bottle of wine from Au winery... as an entrance fee :S

Small winery from the entance... we are leaving... bye bye.

Drove around 2km, we arrived Tamborine shopping center... Again, shopping center here just 2 rows of 'bangalo' shop...
Came to one shop...Fudge. It is a type of Western confectionery which is usually very sweet, and extremely rich. It is made by mixing sugar, butter, and milk. Many variations with other flavourings added are possible. I should buy one and try... but what stopped me is price :(

This is very interesting shop... highly recommend by Timmy... Cockoo and grandfather clock house. If I not mistaken, almost all is made in Germany. Alfonso and I wanted to get one home. We saw a cheapest one... cost us AUD199! No fancy decoration or color. There have less than AUD100 but do not has a bird come out and 'cockoo'. End up, we walked out with empty hand :(

OK... lunch time! We arrived what called Harbour Town. We had our lunch at a Japanese Restaurant called Zushi Sushi. We wish it is a 'pure' japanese food... unfortunately, it is not. The food is not as good as Sakae Sushi in M'sia :( It total cost us AUD69.
Ya, one of the staff there come and talk to Alfonso... the watch of Alfonso looks very beautiful... he said it should be very expensive... Alfonso smile and said: Not really, just around 1 thousand dollar. Blek >,< ... I'm sure Alfonso felt very happy... haha!

Yes, Harbour Town has a slogan call "There's No Town Like It". WHY? It was the first and largest purpose-built, brand direct outlet shopping centre in Australia. The branded clothe here is CHEAP! (If you earn AUD la~)

We can get a ticket (Movie World, Sea World etc) and tour package from here. And the price is a bit cheaper than you get from the counter. Some more, we do not need to wait for a long queqe to buy a ticket from there. Well, we bought a Sea World ticket from here.

OK, it's time to check in. We just realised that our hotel is just next to the Harbour Town after search from the GPS... haha! Here it is... Treasure Holiday Inn.
Lower right: That is our 'room'! Bangalo...

This room or I should say is apartment is very nice. Small (~450 sq ft) but full facility.
2 rooms: queen size bed, 2 double deckers... can fit 6 peoples actually.

Kitchen ready with stove, microwave, cup, plate, pan, knife, folk, spoon etc. What surprising me is there do ready have washing liquid!

After 'wah wah wah' our apartment, we drove around 5km to Surfer's Paradise!

It is really a paradise. Water is clear and cold... sand is soft and smooth... syiok.

'Kayak' training there. The peoples there very 'keat'... look like no cold at all...
The walk way is clean... life guard is every where... Due to winter, not many people jump into the sea and swim...

Saw a pizza shop... stopped by and get one to try. AUD3 each. For me, it is not very nice.

Public toilet along the beach... clean and stylist... drinkable water paip.

Our dinner at Hazel Tea Shop (taiwanese)... The soup is tasteless, I should order spicy soup... 1 chicken rice and 2 sets mini steam boat, 2 pearl milk tea... cost AUD39.50

Street art... donated AUD1... I'm very cheap horrr?

Passed by hypermarket... Alfonso wanted to try the seafood here and wanted to fully utilize the facility in our apartment... so he bought Australian Banana Prawn and Scallop. Just steam and grill... no any seasoning, I believe. Taste good actually... yummy!

  1. Costume history serves as a source of inspiration to current fashion designers, as well as a topic of professional interest to costumers constructing for plays, films, television, and historical reenactment.
