FunFunGooo...!: Pulau Aman, Penang

07 Nov 2009, Sat. Pulau Aman, what it famous? Cheap seafood - Mantis prawn & tiger prawn... & Malay style Mee Udang...! It is a small Island which located at Seberang Perai Selatan, Penang. If you know where is the stadium in Batu Kawan, I'm sure you won't lost. If the stadium is on your left hand side then further a bit you will see a round about. Just go for 12 direction/2nd junction and go straight. You will see the Jetty there. We departed from Penang Island at 11:45am and arrived Jetty around 12++ noon.

This is the Pulau Aman Jetty. Simple... looks like new build.

Pulau Aman just opposite it... Weather is very good today... Can see the cloud clearly... I like it much.

Arrived Pulau Aman lo... this is the Jetty in Pulau Aman. Just took around 5 minutes boat.

Oyster, oyster... look like rock... hehe. Unfortunately, auntie in kitchen did not cook this... (maybe they don't know how to cook... hehe)

Here it is... today one of the main character - MANTIS PRAWN!!!

Supplier supplied the seafood the the seller. After that seller needs to categories the grade - the size of mantis prawn.

We sapu all the mantis prawn and tiger prawn.... all sold out. Wanted buy crab, no more lu... some is booked by other. We came here so late already. A lot peoples come here eat mee udang and will buy a lot when they leave this island.

We brought our 'victory' to the restaurant and asked auntie in kitchen cook for us. They only charge 50 cents per plate.

Our 1st 'victory' comes already...yeah!!!! We had waited so long already. STEAMED BIG PRAWN!

STEAMED BIG MANTIS PRAWN!!!... This round we just got 8 tiger prawns (RM54) & 5 mantis prawns (RN10). This are what we can get from the seller.

See, very huge... as our palm!!!

Can't wait for it... take a big bite!!!!
The meat is very very very super fresh! sweet! juicy!!!!... thick meat, man!

This is not enough for us... we come from far to here... cannot only have this! Well, god bless us... we saw a fisherman brought mantis prawn & crab from his boat. This time we want to be the first... else all will gone in minute.

2nd round!!!!! Had another long wait.... >1 hour...
Here already 2KG - total 17 pcs. They selling this size with 1kg - RM35. Here total RM70. If you order it from restaurant, they almost charge you RM10-RM20 per pcs... same size with this. In Pulau Aman, it only ~RM4 per pcs... damn cheap!

Price: RM6, RM10... what I ordered is RM10... total 6 tiger prawns.
Rating: ** 1/2... the soup is a bit light

Waited for another >half an hour... Nasi goreng udang!

Rating: don't know, I did not taste it :p I think it just so so. Only 2 or 3 prawns.

Again, wait for another > 1/2 hour... Mee goreng udang!
