Fishing@Menglembu, Ipoh

Location: Menglembu@Ipoh
Date: 3 Oct 2010, Sunday

Fishing? Sure is Alfonso's idea. He always complaint nothing to do when going back to ipoh with me. This time he planed to go for fishing in ipoh... else I think he won't follow me to go back.

This was our 2nd time to visit this fishing pond. I remember last time we passed by here to go Pangkor... we saw it. After that, we came here to have a fishing. Well, they do not have provide any fishing rod or even rent. That time we did not have any fishing equipment yet... so thought to rent and go fishing from here.

Today, we are well prepared.

This is the 'PASS'.
2-> 2 hours, 2.10 -> start from 2:10pm.
1 hour -> RM10 ( I think)
2 hours -> RM17
3 hours -> RM27

Cheaper than the Penang one where we had been there twice. There at least 3 hours which cost RM30.

The 'centre' is simply build. Inside just a counter and selling drink & junk food.

Another view of the pond.

'Customer's station' with shield.

Other 'station' without shielding. They put marble there.

They do provide a cage which next to every 'station'.

Let start...

Prawn ans sotong as baith again...

OK ok... ready.... GO!

Shell, fish, glass...

Another view

After 1 hour more, Alfonso only got this little fish. He let this fish back to the pond because he target is the BIG fish... not this.

But today, no luck. We saw a pair of Malay couple were caught a fish within few minutes... non-stop. Her husband were caught a BIG fish... 7kg... really HUGE! End up the staff buy it off from him with RM2.50 per kg. A malay guy who just come and set down next 2 stations of us... he told us, they (malay couple & him) were using bread as baith. Wow, what a low cost invest, I think :p But the fish here like to eat bread instead of prawn&squit.

Alfonso tend to not extend the hour. So we back with empty hand after 2 hours. Going to our car... we saw this view... buffalosss... no wonder here call 'Mengelembu'.

Lazy buffalo... they like to sit down/play with the mud+water.

Since today no luck on the fish... well, we go for another fishing pond!!!

  2. Hi Jacy,

    sorry for late reply. Just saw your comment here.
    I don't have the address. Are you from ipoh? If you are, I assume you know the ipoh well. OK, if we come from ACS school where on your right hand side... just go straight,you will reach to the 'cabang'/traffic light on right where going out to the lumut highway. You take this traffic light and turn right, just go straight, you will pass by the KFC on your right. Just furthere a bit, you can see this pond is on your right.
    Anyway, I look it from google map. Pls look for Jalan Kledang Utara. You will see the pond there which near the "Ipoh Lumut Highway". Hope it helps.
