Bangkok City Trip - Day 3

Day 3 - The Grand Palace & Patpong Night Market

As usual, this was my breakfast.

Local style.. not bad!

Western style... yummy!

After taken our breakfast, we went to the Grand Palace as today activity. I think this will take our whole day time (morning + noon). We took a taxi from our hotel... we lazy to walk and take BTS already, hehe.

Once we dropped from the taxi... one fatty guy was walking forward to us... and told us Grand Palace was doing Buddha ceremony... it was close since morning and will re-open after ~1pm. He show us the map and recommended us go here and there by tuk-tuk which only 20 baht for whole trip... after that baru visit the Grand Palace. From what he told us, those tuk-tuk drivers who are wearing uniform with the government logo - represented that their are 'hired' by government and provice service to the tourist. So they won't charge you with too high.... stardard price which fixed by the government. Well, Alfonso saw a lot peoples also going in and out from the Grand Palace... he don't believe what he said Grand Palace is closed for few hours because of the ceremony. He rejected him and we direct walked to the Grand Palace. As what Alfonso believe... It was OPEN! That guy so bad... bluffed us.

'Guard house'...

Look at the sky, cloudy...

'Don't move'!!!! :p

Susu advertisement... failed! :p

Look at the floor... after rain...

His legs felt pain after few hours walk... so we did not visit other places like just mentioned #2 & #3. Well, it was time for lunch... let's go!

We just went to the market for our lunch which just near by... near the jetty which going to the Wat Arun. Let's try the most local food.... :)

Typically, coconut is the must...

Forget what it call.... I think this is their local food which most of the local people also will order it... cheap and nice... that dark brown color taste like bacon. Actually this food is just a 'fast food'... nice was ready fired... they just put the 'dishes' on top.
Rating: **** (just compare with their local stall food, not restaurant)

Can't miss... tomyam gong again...
Rating: **1/2

This one is... hmm... forgot... I think is the pork on top.
Rating: **1/2

Since it is near Jetty... a lot sailor drop by here...
See their uniform, look coooool... (like popeye? hehe)

This is the 'boat' going to the opposite 'land'... can see? There is the Wat Arun.

ZoooooooooM... Wat Arun

After lunch, we backed to the hotel. On the way to get the taxi, we met the tourist police... he recommended us go here and there... he was so nice... but we rejected since Uncle Jee not interested on this and we were tired. Walked for a while, we got the taxi lastly. This taxi driver was cool (queit)... not like other who we had met. Usually, taxi driver will 'promote' his service such as the day trip. This driver never said out one word about this... he just concentrated his driving. Well, he won't drive like crazy like others, again. We feel lucky to get this taxi :) Anyhow, what interesting was this driver not sure where the hotel that we stayed at. He sent us to the another quite class hotel... haha! Well, we show him the map... but he still blur blur... he stop the car and went out to as his 'colleugue'... ( u can know, taxi is around of us anytime). His colluegue showed him how to go... nice guy. I believed this driver don't know speak the English very well... so he keep queit along the way... and he was a shy person.

Few hours sleep... gru gru gru... it's time for dinner. Tonight we went to Paktong area. Got a Tuk-Tuk... arrived Paktong already. This is not what I imagined... totally not like a SuanLum night market... it just a street... shoplots are on out left & right hand side. Only one small juction selling their stuff... like mini night market. Anyway, this area got a lot.... 'red light juction'... you know what I mean.... hehe... those girls were pretty ohhh... :)

Our dinner... at this restaurant... hmm... just a corner unit with half open air.

Coca-cola VS. Pepsi

Crab meat fried rice.... NICE!
Rating: ***1/2

Seafood fried rice. Nice and good smell.

'La-la' - clam.... smell so 'xing'... did not put much ginger and not fresh enough.
Rating: * very bad

Market is on your left... well, right hand size... got a lot balloon one is one of the Go-Go-Bar in this area... still got a lot this kind of Bar ohh... Ping Pong show... what show what show.... a lot!

We were tasting local bear... Singha & Change Beer.
